ABOUT

EA Junior Badminton Instructional Curriculum are sets of training videos that will help young athletes excel more in the sport of Badminton based on each of their skill levels. Below are 4 different developmental stages that will have the proper training videos tailored to each of our athletes skill level in the sport. 

4 KEY PILLARS FOR YOUTH BADMINTON 

Technical Skills –These are the basic fundamentals that each athlete is required to learn to be able to enhance a good foundation in the sport. This includes fundamental techniques such as GRIP, FOOTWORK, STROKES, SERVES, and NET PLAY. 

Physical Fitness – Proper condition is one of the important aspects whenever playing any type of sports. Athletes who are physically fit and conditioned when playing sports are the ones who will reach their maximum potential in the sport, and also are unlikely to get injured. Physical Fitness in Badminton includes, developing AGILITY, SPEED, STRENGTH, ENDURANCE, and FLEXIBILITY. 

Tactical Understanding – Having a good understanding of the sport will help athletes plan out strategies that will be crucial during competitive scenes. Game strategies in badminton includes, SHOT SELECTION, COURT POSITIONING, ANTICIPATION OF OPPONENTS’ MOVE.

Mental Resilience – Another important aspect when trying to achieve success in sport in proper mental health. This helps athletes to stay focused during games, and build confidence to be able to excel even more in the sport. Techniques to help strengthen an athletes’ mindset includes, VISUALIZATION, GOAL SETTING, and POSITIVE TALKS.

LEARN TO TRAIN

This is the phase of a child athlete’s development when organized training plans are created to support the development of skills, physical fitness, and all-around sport success. Although the precise age range can change based on an individual athlete’s ability level, this stage usually targets athletes in their early adolescent years

TRAIN TO TRAIN

 Developmental stage where young athletes transition from learning foundational skills to focusing more intensely on refining those skills, developing advanced techniques, and improving overall physical fitness

TRAIN TO COMPETE

Phase of an athlete’s growth where training concentrates on being ready for competitive performance at the regional, national, and possibly international levels. Typically, athletes in this stage are those who have already acquired essential talents and are in their late teens

TRAIN TO WIN

The pinnacle of an athlete’s career path, when victory at the greatest national and international competition levels is the main priority. At this point, athletes are usually totally devoted to achieving excellence after having advanced through earlier phases of skill acquisition, physical conditioning, tactical development, and competitive experience.
